![]() | Hi, I have a question that has sort of been brought up here many times, but all i could find is people asking it specifically about PR and I'd like an approach from a more 'general SEO point of view'... Say I have a site about bowling and i want my home page to rank well for this word. I know that I should use "bowling" as an anchor text of internal links on pages throughout my site (linking to the home page). Now the question is, do I do that with EVERY occurrence of "Bowling" or just with the first one on each page? Will 5 links from page A to homepage be better than just one? Or maybe i Should do more than one, but not too many? like 2,3? Also, same question in regards to links from other sites. If I write an article about bowling on another site, and i could use HTML freely, should I just use the first occurrence of 'bowling' to link to my site, some, or all of them? Thanks ![]() |

![]() | I guess you can vary it a little to try rank for multiple search phrases. However, say you have a product named XYZ ... it would only be natural if most links to that specific product pages says XYZ or some variation with related keywords. Mmm.. That was not exactly an exact answer. Perhaps someone else knows ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Nare, i belive that pointing with link more times from a given page to your homepage won't provide any positive benefit for you, but will confuse the visitors, unless you have a very clear intention with it. Keep things naturals! Use the navigation links in order to position your content, your home page as well. And about the incoming links. You will see that regularly the deep links, which point to an inner page instead of the home page would help your ranking much more, and hel to mask the unnatural linking patterns. If i were you i would use 3-4 different anchor text, which would help to strengthen the rankings. Good luck!

![]() | I know this is novice. But what is the best way to build UP incoming links. I have tried many of the social link building/exchanges without much success. What is the SEO Master's strategy to link building . I see discussions of posting on forums etc..with link in signature. Any other good ideas? Thanks!
