Default SEO? how often?

Hi all,

can anyone keep me right, how often should I change or massage my website description, keywords and page text?

The keywords & description can stay the same (assuming they're still relevent), but you should change page text (content) on a regular basis to keep Google interested. You can see how often your site is crawled by Google in Webmaster Tools... there's no poimt in changing the text more often than this, but you will find that google will revisit more often if it sees changing content.

Hi there

You should change all of these, when there is a need to, theres no point in changing a page for the sake of changing it, and it wont make a page more relevant just because you make changes to it.

I change some of my pages a lot, some i hardly ever touch, so its really just common sense really, dont feel as though you have to change ur pages a lot to climb higher in serps, also dont be afraid to change a page when you feel you need to.

Adding new pages/content is good idea. Just for the sake of changing is not a good idea. Everytime you change a page, its ranking for keywords will be reevaluated, so be careful on that. However if there is any improvement on SEO or so I would say go for it.

No need to change the contents frequently. But the content and description should be unique.

If you have time, you can add new pages. But your main sales pages should be optimized for selling... Don't change it if it is doing well

I agree. Changing your content is good for search engines, but keep it user friendly

There is no obivious time to change texts or keywords. You have to check if your page is indexed in search engine or not. If your answer is 'yes' but SEO is not working after your page is being indexed for 1/2 months, you can change and try another set of keyword phrases.

Usually, SEO is a long process, so keey trying different methods.

I always work on the content aspect, keep adding related, informative and keyword rich content, and this will help more in the long run than changing the tags every so often.

it is up to you, but I prefer doing it maybe once per two months or once a month. But content updates must be more frequent than updating meta tags.

Don't change the title if your site is already ranking.. you can change the description and keywords.. because SE don't give much attention to meta tags this days....
