Google says that from a web site, two outbound links to the same webpage from the same page only count as one link. Fair enough. Common sense.

But blogs seem to me to be only one page with constant additional posts. So if I put up several posts and in each different post I link to the same page in another site, do these count as one link or several links for seo/pr purposes?

(Remember I am asking about identical links but from different posts, not from the same post. That is obviously one outbound link. My aim is both to aid Google to theme each post with the outbound link anchor text, and also to help the page I'm linking to.)

If they count as only one link, how about sidebar links to other sites? Or is the effect of the sidebar links only to help Google to theme the blog as OWP says.

Yea i understand what yea meen but unfortunitly its still one link .. Wouldnt matter if u had 1,000 posts

And Yes Blogs have more than one page.. for example blog.webhostingreview.ca
notice theres a main page and every post has a totally different URL thus a new page .

such as

Post1 blog.webhostingreview.ca

Post2

I understand that some single posts may be very long and carry on forever.. but as long as the URL in the adress bar stayes the same its 1 link. no matter how many you may have..

I dont think I have ever seen a blog with only 1 page..

think the smallest one iv seen is 3 pages

Yes, it looks as if new urls are generated by the way in which posts are archived. I've had mine archived every month and that can give me quite a long page with one url. If I archive them every week, then that will provide more frequent pages. The example you show looks as if each individual post is archived as the next one is published.

Richard, if I link to one site from a blog post with one url, and then link to the same site again with a much later post and a different url, that will count as two links won't it?

But I'm anticipating that any sidebar links only count as one because they are built into the template. Mind you they are needed to "theme" the site for google.

Is that right? Thanks for your help.
