Help required on marketing multiple site.

I would like some advice on possibly Branding or promoting 12 websites that i have.As i say i have websites covering diy,gardening,toys,health and beauty etc and most have .us extensions like www.diyfrom.us and www.gardeningwith.us so what i am thinking is and this is were i require some advice or help,do i keep them seperate as they are or could i brand them under one banner like www.wiget.us/gardening etc.

If someone has any thoughts on this one,the major problem that i can see is promoting them all,but sky television in the UK has just one brand name but markets its services under the one brand name so it can be done.

Is there anyone that could help or any thoughts on this.

My suggestion would be to keep them separate unless they are related or have related audiences.

You can get some traffic boost by connecting and linking similar properties. For example, DIY and gardening have a lot of the same readers. If you link unrelated topics, you may scare off some readers and effect your search rankings because the content on your pages is unrelated.

A DIY site with toys on it will be ranked lower that a site with all DIY. Relevance is important.

If you can give all 12 of your sites and your budget, I can give some advice for promoting the entire family of sites.

I agree with above mentioned statement. You should promote them separately as you have businesses not connected to each other in most cases. Of course you can place links on one of your sites that lead to anoter one (it will work). If someone is looking for toys he will look exactly for toys site not site that would reffer to it.

Many thanks Folks for your input,it looks as if it will be wise to keep them separate.The reason that i thought about doing this in the 1st place was that many leading Brand names do have everthing under one banner.
