![]() | This is an issue i know that has really affected a lot of online marketers.its exclusionist policy is making a lot of people lose out on effectively doing online business. Why don't paypal allow certain countries to use their services? I am originally fron Nigeria, and back there we cannot use paypal.i wonder why we are being actively encouraged to use the internet when we are not allowed to use services from certain websites. My folks only use the internet to do school work on google and to check their mails, but miss out on the mega bucks that are being made everyday on the internet. This is a big problem for all the countries exluded by paypal. And to think that every where they are talking about stamping out online fraud, when they are in effect promoting fraud by excluding a section of the online community from enjoying some services.thsi folks turn to fraud as the online alternative to survive online and then every one turns around and blames them something they are forced into by the big players.i know people who use fake US addresses to open their US paypal accounts, though they then face the problem of not being able to withdraw their monies from the accounts. This is my current dilema.i have a US paypal but now need a US Bank account to enable me verify and then withdraw from my account. My question is why are we treated like second class citizens? How can paypal's attitude be changed so that a majority of us can benefit from their services? Post your comments please, thanks

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This might be connected to the fact that these countries are considered high-risk due to the high level of credit card fraud originating from these countries. Nigeria is especially unpopular on ebay, (world’s number 1 auction website) for fraud. |

![]() | I would say that everyone that has a internet connection on the Planet is very wary with anything to do with Nigeria it does not matter if it is PayPal or any other form of business, please note this is only a opinion that is general knowledge and not my personal opinion aimed at any single person !!! It could be the fact that nearly every day in the news media we hear that people are being scammed for vast amounts of money and i would think that many more go without public knowledge. I guess this could be a major reason that you are finding it very difficult!! Rick.......... |

![]() | Personally i opt to stay away from paypal.. Take your time and read there TOS. people eather dont know or didnt realize that paypal is not a financial institution and dont need to follow the same rules. According to there tos, they could take your money for no reason and do what they like with it, they can sell your personal financial info If they went bankrupt, they can use your funds and even funds within your bank account to pay creditors. It really is scary... Its basically the same if i started a similar site and asked you to let me hold your money and give me all your bank and financial info.. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Most online scams are created by Americans. I don't know why they don't allow certain countries to use their services. I hope that you don't think that I am descriminating, but I won't build anything for you if you don't live in Colorado. |

![]() | Nigeria has had too many scams going on and Paypal feels safer without the exposure. Years ago I had my Paypal account hit over a hoilday weekend and I used a seperate bank account for PayPal. If I hadn't, I would have been cleaned out of everything in the Bank. I think EBay bought Paypal by the way. |

![]() ![]() | I tend to agree with the most people. Nigeria is associated with far too many scams. I still receive many spam e-mails originating from there. I don't see how not being allowed to use PayPal encourages scam. This is an excuse for those who would scam no matter what. I am not allowed to vote in my country of residence or to have a credit card. Does not mean I am going to turn to scam to remedy that. Personnaly I am not going to do business with anyone from that part of the world. And I am not going to apologize if this offends anyone. Too much risk of being scammed out of my hard earned money. |

![]() ![]() | Actually convicted criminals can do both of those things. I can't vote because I am not a citizen. As for credit card... it's more of my own personal choice. |
