There's no easy answer to this, however personally I would put down a great website to a number of factors: 1 Most importantly content: content should be useful, of interest, up to date and accurate. 2 Design: Simple but attractive 3 Navigation: easy to follow, structured and intuitive 4 Speed: should load quickly, even when using a dial up modem (these are potential customers too) 5 No gimmicks: too offputing 6 Trusted: a site that has or building a positive reputation 7 Adverts: or rather few adverts, it's the contet not the adverts thats attracted attention to the site, adverts should be subtle.
