hai everyone,
i am some doubts in the domain name. please tell me What are the standard top-level domain names and who controls them?, Where are all the Internet domain names registered and maintained?...

The good domains name are
1.short
2.you cant find those words in dictionary(original)
3.they aply to your website like your site is about transformers then call your site transformtherobot or something like that.
4.it sounds good.

He asked about top level domains, not domain names....

The ICANN controls all domain name registration, but the best TLD you can get is a .com....org, .net, .info, .tv, etc...are all good choices too. It also depends on where you live, there are some country TLD's that are impossible to get without proving that you are a legitimate business.

Your name must carry the main idea of your web site or at least be part of your web site motto.
