Hello,
I am the ceo/founder of Taisoft Corporation www.taisoft.org and i don't know if you don't have a trademark for your company is illegal. My dad wants me to go to a good school and have a good job but going in to the school there is a time where they check your profile. If you have any bad things you did you can't go into good school. My dad said if you operate a company illegal you could be put in jail and get a bad record. I don't know if its true. If it is i am going to get a trademakr this month or i am deleting my site. Anyway give me a suggestion will be thanks and given a free security software.

Any help would be appricated

What i think your dad means is if you are found guilty of insider trading, embeselment or fraud you will go to jail... Not having a trademark for your website is perfectly legal.

You don't have to trademark anything; it just gives you further legal protection.

Trademarks are only applicable (in the US) if your company is involved in Interstate commerce. Although I am not sure how Canada's regulations apply, I do know that not having a trademark will never put you in jail. The crime is if you are INFRINGING someone else's trademark, and that typically results only in paying damages.

I think you might possibly be more concerned about obtaining a Tax ID. Again, I am not familiar with how it works in Canada, but it is a crime in the US if you are making money through a company that you don't pay taxes on. You need to report any and all income to the government.

So unless you are making money at Taisoft, and you aren't paying taxes on it, I would say you are in the clear.

In Canada, if you are making money, it has to be taxed, just as the U.S. is. If you are recieving payments through PayPal, it automatically taken out. Most online money trade companies do this for you. Copyright infringement, because of your age, will sue your parents, and send you (possibly) to juvenile detention (not at your school, it is like...jail).

Albert if you are really only 12 then my suggestion to you is GO HAVE SOME FUN! You are young... go hang out with your friends, go and experience the things you are to experience when you are 12.

Once you have done that come back in 7 or 8 years and then start your own company.

Seriously dude you dont want to get to my age (27) and look back asking yourself where your childhood went, it just aint worth it and you only live once.

That is very true. I am actually 14, and I have wondered where all of my middle school social years have gone. I am trying to get better, but I have orders to complete, and I have gotten myself in a hole. Enjoy it while you can.
