Does This Do Any Good?

I have just looked at one of my competitors sites and have noticed that every page is an index page of a folder named after a search phrase ie.if the search term he is after is "monkey nuts" then it is www.circus.com/monkey-nuts/
This seems like a lot of extra work creating all the files and then remembering to upload into the correct files every time you work on a page etc. Is there any major benifit to this system as opposed to just using www.circus/monkey-nuts.htm

This technique is called url rewriting - this is good for search engine indexing. You can have more info from the following link:
