![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It's not necessarily bad news for link sellers. If what you are selling is PR, then yes, this is bad news for you...But, if you are selling reviews, which means that you will have as many, if not more, rejections than acceptances, then you will be fine. Offer a quality product, and you will have customers. |

I agree. I had one site that seemed to get downgraded, and I believe it was because I had a site wide link to it from another site I own. Obviously didn't buy it from me. Relavancy could be an issue. I really think they shouldn't penalize for this. If they are really concerned about it maybe downgrade the value of the backlink, not penalize the site that is getting them. Obviously if the site has money to buy massive amounts of link they should have some value or else they are just throwing money into the wind.

![]() ![]() | Google do not have to know the difference between paid links and bought PR. THEY have said, if you buy a link, get it nofollowed or get ready to face the consequence!

I dont thnk that is was your sitewide link causing the problem unless it wasn't on a relevant site, but still that would not really cause a downgrade. I have sitewide links on many of my sites and it does nothing but help.

![]() | My concept has always been to buy links for traffic only. Where else can you pay just a few bucks and get targeted traffic to your products/services? In the real world almost impossible. If a site passes some of the green juice and GOOGLE does not mind I see it as a bonus. I don't think going after the PR is an option anyone should choose. I am in charge of a website that was not on the radar for the number one keyword when I took over. After a year I had it up to page 2 and we hit page rank 5. The competing # websites are 1,160,000,000. After the PR update we went to a PR 4 and our SERP is 8th and 10th (depending on the day). As you can see it is not the main factor. It comes automatically (naturally also know as organically) as you work on all of your SEO and you move up through the ranks. |
