Default Making a phpbb3 forum with a Liquid Layout

Here's me sliding in here asking a teeney, tiney question.

My free forum host is going to change soon to Phpbb3 and I just dislike the themes/styles.

But I have to know CSS in order to edit the stlyes... so I started to learn... really I have no clue what or where things are.

But I'm determine to make my own stlye... being that.. I want to make my own stlye... really nothing too fancy - lol - but I would like the background to be "fixed" and make the forum body scroll.

I found a code to make this happen...but... on the forum it does not have the "liquid" effect.

Code:
body { /* Text-Sizing with ems: http://www.clagnut.com/blog/348/ */ font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; color: #828282; background-image: url("http://www.freepowerboards.com/ggandmg/users/imageset/background2.jpg"); background-repeat: repeat; background-attachment: fixed; /*font-size: 62.5%; This sets the default font size to be equivalent to 10px */ font-size: 10px; margin: 0; padding: 12px 0; }

This is the section I added my background image... I added in the code:
Code:
background-repeat: repeat; background-attachment: fixed;

but it does not work.

Can I make this happen?.... what other part of the code do I have to edit?

Thanks a bunch

It will only work in certain browsers. I don't think that IE is supporting use of fixed backgrounds yet. There are ways of doing it, but I don't know them. You could do a search on Google for "fixed background CSS" and see what you can find there.

ok jumpen... ya got me thinking... I did spend all day searching for the code - lol

So I took out this part

background-repeat: repeat;

Used a different browser and yeahhhhh, it worked!! ... it's "fixed"

but you said that IE does not support "fixed backgrounds"... but how come I can see it at other sites? Like Clagnut.com

There is a way to make it work...It's complex, but it can be done....Do a search on Google for "Fixed Background in IE".....Let us know what you come up with...I have done this on sites, but I am not good at remembering things, so I can't remember what I did to make it work.
