This web site is a spin off from my original site and is similar. I have made some considerable changes. Any comments and constructive criticism - appreciated.

Your website looks black & white ... try to use more color, images etc.

Try to use some color in your tabs as well, as sheena said. They looks dead from appreance.

I like it, but the yellow highlights should be consistent. Either both rounded, or both boxed. The boxed one also needs some spacing. Also, minor thing, the footer does not match up on left side perfectly.

I like the colors as you have them now - the grey and dark colors lend to the theme of the site.

It appears you are working with a template and not sure how much control you have but I would take all the style information in the head and create a css file for it.

You have multiple links to the same page - note that only the first link to another page is the one that actually matters and the others are ignored. What I mean is as an example; you have a link with anchor, "why a coal miners website" with that anchor you are telling the SEs that the destination page is important to the world for that phrase, now suppose you had writen an article for the index that talks about that same page and in it you placed a link to the page with an even better term - the link that is prominant in the code will be the only anchor text considered for the page. Unless you do it, and it makes sense for, the visitor you have no reason to place multiple links to individual pages from a single page. It will pass no additional PR either. What I mention has been just recently tested and confirms another test run by Seomoz. Testing is now underway to determine if the first link is nofollowed will it then pick up the next link. Just something additional to consider when designing pages.

Thanks Navy CS, Now that's the kind of critique I was wanting. Instead of a lame remark like "Not working for me." Although the comments about the colors the others left were positive.

I am kinda confused however about the multiple links to the same page. I deactivated all the links to the current page the visitor is on. Where as that page the visitor is currently on is no longer activated. You must be referring to something else. Any more input would be most helpful and appreciated.

Lets say this post is a single website page.

Lets say you have 3 links on this page that all link to a single page.

link1 with anchor "Coal is black" to coal.html
link2 with anchor "Coal is white" to coal.html
link3 with anchor "Coal is blue" to coal.html

The link that is in the code first is the only link that will pass link juice and weighting of the anchor - the linked to page will only be important for "Coal is Black" and the reference of white and blue coal from the page will be ignored. So it is important when building a web page where articles are being written (ie. blogs) that your site navigation be at the bottom of the code because if you write an article and post a link to a resource you all ready have a link to that is closer to the top of the code than the one in your article the first link is the only one that will count. (hope that makes more sense)
