Video "TUBE" site SEO.

While I have dealt with a lot in my web history, I have never taken the "dive" into video sites. (YouTube knock off sites.)
I am helping a friend with a new site Whitetail Tube and wondered if anyone has any success with SEO on such a video site. Any tips would be great.
I am NOT worried about links. We have people lining up that want to link to us, more so the initial build out and structure.

Agreed...
Just our initial stab.
We are playing with many themes and designs at this point.
We will more than likely take it green and vary the look some.

Video sites are not that hard to optimise for, just make sure you have some nice keyword rich code ready for people to copy and paste into their pages etc as that will take care of your backlinks. Make sure the standard and range of videos is good, that they are grouped as part of your scripting, so that inbound linking is semantically good.

Thanks I might have you take a look at the internal structure once we get it SEMI rolling... Guess your charge will include the new keyboard.

We have sister sites that get over 3000 visitors a day and they will all be promoting it heavily on front pages.

I have a rugby forum, and since installing the youtube plugin (allowing youtube videos to be viewed on the forum rather than having to go to youtube to view), since this was installed a lot of traffic has been coming to the site as people link to it.

Yes, we use youtube on many sites and pull in up to 73,000 hits every 6 months from it. I decided to go with a static HTML site that leads into the video site. Found a good guy to redesign the layout and color themes. We will be adding forum, photos, classifieds and more. We have another like it that gets 120,000 visitors a month because of the huge amount of content and related sub-pages. The current template there now is just a page holder while one of my geek, dope smoking, coders, refines the layout.

It most certainly is.
It is AMAZING when you type in certain keywords, how many videos come up in the results. This is on a standard SERPS page and not a video tagged SERPS page. The wonderful thing is that if you upload through Google, not youtube, you get a wonderful link right next to your video.
