Email software for mailshoting existing customers?

Hello all,

Can anyone recomend email management software (or techniques) to manage email marketing to my previous customers? I do NOT mean spamming mass-mailing lists (as this thread http://talk.iwebtool.com/thread17102.html), but a way of mailing around 2,000 previous customers with offers and updates.

Ideally I'd like:

Free/open source software (OK, a bit optomistic, I know!)
Able to run on Mac
Include easy opt-out option for recipients
Outgoing mail managed so it doesn't look like Spam
Follows good anti-spam practice

I personally HATE spam, but see targeted emails to previous customers to be a useful marketing tool and it should be possible to do this in a responsible and ethical manner.

Any ideas??

I've used www.constantcontact.com ... that's pretty cool.

1. They have easy opt-out option for the receipents.
2. They have a spam calculation meter.
3. I guess they allow 1 spam in 1000 emails otherwise they will lock your account, my account was locked once. I'd to call them and explain the situatioin.

They have some other features as well.

One of my friend suggested me to go with www.dotmailer.co.uk ... she is using that one.

www.constantcontact.com looks good, but probably more than I need.

A bit crude, I know (..the web services suggested by hasan seem to be very good, but more sophisticated than I need and it's difficult for me to justify the cost)
