I believe, I'm pretty sure, that all whois information is provided by domaintools, all others use domaintools to provide thier information. I've never used any other.

If you type in whois.org, you will be taken directly to domaintools.

Domaintools is one of my favourite websites as well but recently I start using this one: http://www.whois.ws/ .
The other one is dnsreport/dnsstuff but it's paid now.
