 Identity Card Scandal - Passport Office

At the beginning of September I went in to the post office and fill out the forms for a new passport. Turn-a-round time is about 10 days they told me.
A week later I received my old passport back through the post as was supposed to happen. What is then supposed to happen is my new passport should be couriered back to me.
At the beginning of October I still hadn't received my new passport so I called the passport enquiry line who in turn told me it had been sent out to me 4 weeks ago!
Check this out. What the courier did was post my passport in somebody elses letter box.
What the dumb***K should have done was taken a signature. Now they are trying to track where they posted my passport.
In recent times the government have been talking about identity cards to help stop fraud, terrorism and other crimes within the UK. To get an identity card you must present your passport and it so happens it is supposed to cost about £250.
Having spoken to the passport office about the positing they said it is not necessary to get a signature.
What a farce. This country cannot protect you from your passport being lost and they want to have identity cards too. |
