PR Updated on my WebSite!

Dear DP menbers PR updated on one of my website, www.PattayaHoliday.biz It was PR4 for a year and now PR3, I always keep doing link Building, but it seem to be something happening.

Any comments would be appreciate.

I wouldn't worry too much about PR. It doesn't have much value and doesn't guarantee traffic. Personally get some useful content and watch the links build up naturally.

PR is relative to the number of pages in the google index. it is NOT directly relative to the number of links alone . THEIR value can also alter as the index expands or shrinks.

Without drawing a HUGE diagram, I will explain it thus.

Each page has a PR value of 1.

If there are 16 billion pages on the web, then there is 16 billion seed PR values to vote. this will compund as the PR spreads across the sites and pages.

Now if this index shrinks to 15B, then the seed value has also shrunk. Conversley an expansion can also result in a drop for some pages as there are now more pages in the indes drinking the link juice.

SO to sum it up, the value of Pr is directly affected by the size of the index.

Has anyone else seen any PR movement? I have seen a few people say that it has updated on their site, but I still haven't seen much about it.

it was true about index page, but my site indexed page increased but back link was decreased.

Nope. I seriously doubt that is going to happen anytime soon. Google scrapping REPORTING of Pr and contributory factors maybe

I wish they would! We could then stop obsessing about PR and concentrate on actual results instead...

I agree with stste PR is not of too much importance, but
if you really like your site to gain PR-- the natural way is
doing the directories submission and inbound link, though
if you think this is not enough yet, you will now used the PPC.

i think google with not only depends on the link building but on the other factor which is the on-page optimization.
