Hostings with good MySQL databases

When comparing hosting, there are some hidden features which are not visible at first glance, but time will tell.

One of the important features of hosting for professional applications is MySQL server

Could you please share your good experience with hosting company with reasonable service on MySQL server

I mean:

max number of simultaneous connections
Limit on the size of importing files
Limit on the database size
....................

You know, the advanced enhanced hosting accounts nowadays are really without the limitations of space and the connections.

Of course, too many connections might affect the uptime factor.

I do not recommend godaddy for hosting. Shop around... Lunarpages has been great for me. Also check out HostGator. I have an ixwebhosting plan too and they are OK but I'm not going to renew my plan when it's done.

You can get shared hosting services with MYSQL 4 and 5 from a2hosting.com, if you need more databases than your package provides, you can get extra databases at $1/mo.

Such unlimited offers are commercial propaganda, but in action, you will encounter common limitations

Godaddy is one of the worst shared host and IX doesnt offer MySQL with their basic plan!

All mysql are the same. just make sure it's the latest version. just google to see what latest version is.

I'm not sure though that the latest version is always a better choice.

I agree as for a2hosting.com plans, they seem to incorporate all the latest features and make a developer-friendly environment.
