Default SEO Links

We all know that it is important to have in/outbound links, backlinks and deep links to SEO your website.

But there has got to be a less time consuming way of carrying out this, any ideas?

Buy some software to submit for you, or pay someone to submit?
Or simply have a website so interesting or authoritative that others wish to link to it?

Carrying out what?

The best, most efficient way to get links is what Chart said. Have something worth linking to, and then people will want to link to you for your site's good content.

Whoever told yuou making money online is easy was lying.

It never fails to make me smile when people complain about the cost of SEo then when they try to do it themselves they start to find out just how involved it is.

the Worrying thing about self SEO though is that all your effort might be in vain if you have not done your Keyword research properly, and are not applying your backlinking properly.

A clear example of this is that say you have 10 phrases you are targeting. how many links do you need for each? Imagine getting 500 backlinks taking you months, when all you really needed was 30-40 high quality ones

Hi There

Submitting to thousands of pointless directories isnt the way to go, you need good quality links, as people have said on here the best way is to have somthing worth linking to, if your sites good people will link to it.

I submit to thousands of worthless directories though I do it for most of my clients in fact. It hides the real work I do for them and makes it harder for their competition to know what links are doing the business and which are smokescreening

Hey I am a businessman, I do what is nest for my clients. Alls fair in love and war, and web marketing is war

I wouldn't call any link worthless...Although there are some that have no value, most links carry some. Even those "worthless" directory listings....I had no idea until a few days ago that I hadn't submitted my Heroes forum to any directories....Ever! I don't have incredible standings for my targeted keywords, but I'm in the top 30 or 40 across all the search engines. That's all from site wide signature links across 4 forums, 6 unique sites altogether, 2 of which are some type of search engines. The only thing that I did differently for my Lost forum was submit to an additional 100 or so directories, and it's in the top page for my targeted keywords across all search engines, and I brought it to number 3 for a while.

Now don't get me wrong, I would never suggest that you rely souly on links from forums and directories, as I have in the past. I would suggest that if its truly important to you, find sites that are willing to link to you that are quality and relevant sites. That's the approach I am taking to my shed site. I have started off by joining in contractors forums, to help me gain some relevant links, but I'm also in the works of creating a network amongst internet building and remodeling contractors where we would all agree to have one anothers links on one anothers site....Sort of like a link exchange, but on a bigger scale.

how would you define high quality links? - links related to my site? high PR?

I have only had my Bidding Directory for a few months and I have submitted my directory to other directories that come up when i search my keywords. I am consistently submitting atleast 3 a day atleast 1 a day is a pr4 or more. I have read alot on the net that the best way to build backlinks is naturally (slowly but not to slow) by submitting your link with software or link submission services you take the chance of being caught by the search engines, and search engines can tell when a person is doing unnatural submission. Like mentioned above, instead of wasting time submitting to low PR and Low traffic sites, just submit to sites that are have high quality relevant content and have a nice PR. For your jewelry sites try searching the term "jewelry web directory" or "fashion web directory" and then submit to the top ranking sites that have a good PR.

Hi there

I am of the opinion that the submitting links to directories, has been done to death, its the same for recipricol linking, its been done over and over.

If people want to get ahead, then you have to do somthing different, you cant just do what everyone else is doing, unless you have lots of cash lol !

So if my answers seem rather short i appologise !

But I do find it rather tiresome, when people go on about submitting to lots of directories than no one uses, a link on a site that no one visits is no use as no one is ever gonna click it !

Your just getting links for the sake of getting links
