Google abandons PR

Thought the title might get your attention!

I don't know if it's true but I can imagine that releasing of PR publically might not happen any more.

Does anyone else have the same idea?

It's a possiblity, I'm not sure which way google is going with the PR, but hopefully we'll all find out soon.

I think they'd update toolbar first to remove it if PR wasn't going to be published in future

I agree with Mars on this one.....They would have to get rid of the tool bar PR first, otherwise, 90% of the world that use the Google tool bar and have no idea what PR really means would be confused if all of a sudden, the toolbar read 0 for all sites....I don't think that they will ever get rid of it....What would be the point in having it if nobody knew that it existed? Obviously, it is only a tiny factor in SERPS.

At the official PR export thread i posted about a found information. According to this the export will come after the new algo will be applied. I belive that Matt is not a liar.

UMM ,I think they will release PR in private zone ,and you can see it in your own webmaster tools ,more in detail than nowadays . (just guessing)

I seriously doubt Google will abandon its Pagerank system; the pagerank system is well-known along webmasters; and is today one of the factors that webmasters look into. So, yes, I believe there will be an pagerank in the near future

I'm sure there will be another PR update. I'm also convinced there is work going on in the background at Google and then the update will happen.

honestly I'm not sure about this
but I have face something strang
since monthes ago if you serach in google.com for query mybb
my site http://www.dd4bb.com it was showen in page 7 and since only 15 day it's showen in page 2! but I can't find any update for google pr..
so how can we explain that, the sites effecting in the serp but not effected in thier pr

pepotiger, Welcome to the forums

The serps for Google update often, that is a natural thing which is happening with your site being on page 2 and it's nothing to do with the PR.
The PR is only made public infrequently and this is what we are pondering on this thread.
