Have a constant problem finding 9 other posts before rewarding Bagi again.

Can we reduce the limit from 10, or remove the limit all together.

I agree... I often want to Rep 2 or 3 individuals again & again... but keep being told to 'spread it around'. A limit of, say, 3 might be more realistic than 10.

As someone who posts a fair bit of information I have to say that it is disappointing when after making a real good post , you know what I mean, a post that containss ome real good information that should really be written as an article and distributed, yet no one gives me reputation points.

I think that most people don't know how to give rep anyhow, so they don't do it. I would say that it could be reduced to 5 reps no problem. I understand the reason for it is to stop a couple of people rep mongering (as happened on DP and still does).

I would second that - I have received really useful advice from OWG (and others), but am unable to show my appreciation without going around giving out rep to people who don't really deserve it!

So, while I'm here, can I just say a public thank you to Old Welsh Guy, Bagi, Chart and Jumpen for great advice freely given (and others who's names I forget - sorry).

I really think the fact you are receiving so less rep's is because of that.

BTW : I just tried to give you some...but am not allowed again :sad:

Some times ago i almost had problems with the use of the rep system, and the main difficoulty was rewarding Jumpen. I'm very lucky as i am a mod now i don't have to take care with this limitation and i can spread as many rep away as the members deserve it.

Fortunately, we have more dedicated members who helps to serve the newbies and make this place amazing like Jump, Midlandi, Chart, OWG and the MVP runner up Mr. Bisjeah!

Yes, but there isn't 9 others that post up regularly rep posts. Anyway, I'm glad others seem to agree it's worth looking at.
I also feel rep posts to newbies don't get any rep.

I may be going against the grain here, but I like the high limit on how many times before you can rep someone again. This type of rule helps from keeping a few people from manipulating the system, a small group of 5 or 6 people could just rep each other over and over again.

Although, the above people mentioned probably deserve the extra rep for helping everyone else out


(An off-topic question, but just wondering what are the terms that affect your rep-giving power?)

I think you mis-understand the problem try giving rep more then 10 times and you will soon encounter the problem!
Your first ten are easy because you have no limits, once you get to your 11th rep, you can't include any of your last ten people. You've already done Bagi Zoltán, OldWelshGuy, mars guitars, Bisje, jumpenjuhosaphat, Joshie, Richard Joseph and a few other newbies, yet you can't rep then again so basically you are stuck to rep'ing random people in order that you can free yourself to be able to rep decent posts again.

I understand the problem, and have given out a bunch of rep (beyond 10 times, then I have been able to give rep back to my first person, etc.) and like I said, I think this is better, to keep people from abusing the system.

If you feel there aren't that many more people that can offer good advice, then I can see why you want the requirement lowered (or eliminated altoghether).
