What are your thoughts on the new Halo game? Did it meet expectations?

i havent personally played it but my best mate loves the game. you ask him if he fancy's going out for a pint and he makes every excuse imaginable just to stay home and play his bloody game, so by that alone, i would say it has to be pretty good!

It's alright, here's my brief review (Don't worry, no spoilers)

The Good: Still fun to play on live, New Weapons,new vehicles (I like the elephant), "Forge Mode", and movie saves.

The Bad: The controls have been slightly altered (Now you have to push the bumper buttons to reload, and X button Launches "Equpment Balls" (Not a big fan of this new "Equipment"), still mixes me up when I'm playing).

The Ugly: I wasn't a big fan of the new multiplayer maps. Some were OK, like "High Ground" and "Sandtrap" (HUGE Desert level), the rest were meh.

It's simply amazing, I'll do the same as James and write about the good, bad, and ugly (of course, no spoilers )

Good:
- Weapons are upgraded / new weapons
- Nice new maps
- Great storyline
- The dual player (you and the Arbiter play)
- There is tons of unexpected turns in the plot
- Much better graphics, loads a bit faster
- New flood types
- New vehicles (awesome!)

The Bad:
- Graphics are good, but not quite amazing for the fact that it's HD capable
- Several times you are rudely interrupted during gameplay (I won't give anything away, but if you play the game for over 10 minutes, you know what I mean).
- Very little randomness. What I mean is that there are 4 types of covenant now (spoiler be gone) and you rarely see Hunters. Hunters aren't fun anymore also, they're almost too easy to kill with a couple grenades and well places shots. Some of the maps aren't very exciting, and scarabs are constantly used.
- Slightly irksome for a bit, but using RB instead of X was weird for action, but after a good bit of play, becomes an asset.
- All equipment but Deployable cover and bubble shield is pointless.
- Too many cut scenes, I want to actually play the cool parts.
- Some maps are extremely monotonous, so many corridors to walk, becomes boring after a while.

The Ugly:
- Title Screen is horrible. Why can't they go back to the original Halo-type screen, instead of that blue background crap.
- Spartan Laser is cool in multiplayer, but the charge length, and fact that you have 5 shots makes it, for the most part, a piece of crap.
- The massive flood level (enough said, people who have played this level know why I chose this).

Overall however (I gave it a pretty hard review), this game deserves a 7-8/10.
