the recent firmware update disables unlocked iPhones and wipes unauthorized apps.

wow, i didnt realise they could do something like this. i was thinking about purchasing the iphone from the US and having it unlocked, then shipped to the UK cus i cant be bothered to wait until its released over here, but if i risk my purchase being disabled, i think i would rather wait.

i think it is definately out of order that they are doing such a thing in my opinion, after all, somebody did have to purchase that phone in the first place before its ever unlocked, so its not like these phones or stolen or anything.

you dont see mobile phone manufacturers like nokia, motorola, sony erikson etc blocking their mobile phones just because somebody unlocked them to work on a different network!!!

in 3 words my thoughts are as follows: they are wankers!

It's too bad they're locked into att, iphones are cool but if your locked into another carrier your out of luck.
