Default How to set up a good campaign to get results.

A successful adwords campaign today requires you to be more specific than in the past.

Do's
  1. Set up multiple ad variations for each keyword
  2. Set up multiple groups of ads for each keyword
  3. Start your bid low, increase as neccessary.

Don't
  • Spam keywords for your campaign, too many is not better
  • Use generic terms, unless you're rich
  • try to get a lot of traffic from one ad

The key to a successful adwords campaign today is going for the "long tail" of searches. The more specific your keywords the better. Multiple ad variations for campaign groups that have only one keyword are good. You can set a maximum price for the entire campaign and watch all of your "mini groups" pull in just a couple of visitors a day. This is the only way to get extremely targeted traffic that converts!

I see too many people describing their AdWords failures still, you can lose a ton of money quickly if you try to make your ad as general as possible.

Cheers

I see your point and thought I was doing just what you suggested above. However, I didn't get the results I wanted. Of course, data recovery and the surrounding keywords are a tough market to fight for.

Just to clarify one thing, are you suggesting that if I were to want to target the keywords apple data recovery services, I should create several different ad groups with the same keywords?

Thank you both. The tips are very helpful. At the moment Adwords brings about 50 visitors every day to my site , I am not sure how many are fraud clicks. It generating some business and one of the main source directing traffic to my site.
