How about "The importance of PageRank in search results"? That is the biggest question that should be asked, but never is....I'd like to know how important PR is when Google determines Search Results rankings...My guess? I'd say that PR isn't very important.

I agree. It's also not easy to say how important the backlink is.

I think its best not to even try to understand it, and forget about it, the more you stress over page rank the more of an issue it becomes

Good points, the reality is that PR is having less determining factors in a website search engine rankings.

PR and website search engine ranking are the most important factor for SEO. Although webmasters is waiting for PR update, we must remembered that it is only part of seo factor and for page rank our link is familiar and valued as good site.

Think of page rank like a report card in school.

You have worked all semester and been graded all during that time.
(Search engine results, indexing and evaluation happen all the time, not just after a page rank update.)
You have been building “grades” that are currently active and have an effect.
The fact that you get a report card at the end of that semester means little other than showing you where you were during that time and now.
Don’t forget that you now must return back to work and maintain those grades.
Start getting “F’s” and your grade goes back down.
Even though your last report card showed an “A” for the last semester, that does not mean you are an “A” student (website) this time.
Page rank really is just a public display of what goes on every week and every day.
Too many other factors have much more significance on your search engine placements and traffic.
