![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The text in between the <title></title> tags on your website is very essential. These keywords are very content-determining as it tells the search engines what your website is about. So? Try to put only the most vital keywords into your title tag. Try to avoid phrases such as 'welcome to our company' as these are pretty useless. Have fun!

![]() | Agreed! I use lengthy titles, though possibly more unprofessional, but instead of: "Our Company! Welcome!" I do: "Our Company - Specializing in (keyword), (keyword), (keyword), (keyword), free (keyword), and (keyword)!" Lol, it DOES work ![]()

| Member | Yeah, titles are definitely important. I should optimize them more myself...

| Regular Member | besides titles, the image names, alts, etc. should also contain the keyword. eg, instead of naming the logo of your site as logo.gif, try make it hosting_logo.gif or whatever is your keyword |

| Regular Member | I have heard in a few places that title isn't all that important...maybe I've just been misinformed? Or maybe these people are going off the train that says Meta keywords/descriptions are not very important these days...

| Member | The title tag is quite essential to your site. All search engines use it to gather info about your Web site. It's also the words in there that appear as the clickable link on the SE results page. Maybe what they were refering to as not at all important is the title attribute found in the anchor tag. (eg. <a href="link" title="go to link here">some words</a>) which is not really valued by crawlers but is useful for human visitors. |

| Junior Member | Title tags, Alt tags, Image names are all important in my mind, i have seen what it does to your site when you have used al lthem to its full potentional, also if you are a company based in (location) it is best to add the location as many times as you can also.

![]() | Titles are definately important. Not only do they help with rankings but things like title and potentially description can help you avoid a duplicate content penalty. I have found in the past that using the same title on multiple pages can help get you a duplicate content penalty in Google, for example, which means some of your pages get moved to the supplemental index. |
