Default Forum Hosting

What is the best free forum hosting, I have had quite a few forums, and I get tired of the host, so all help is thanked. I prefer PHPBB, but all is good IMO.

thanks.

I've used Invisionfree as a backup Forum, it didn't cope(no response) with more then about 50 members online.
Not had an experience of any other free forums to comment.

I've used invisionfree for a while, but my forum skin doesn't work anymore for some reason. Right now my site is a phpbb3 which i like a lot so far.

If you forum generate quite a bit of traffic, we can host it for you free at Velnet Web Hosting in exchange for a link back to us. You can have your choice of software including vBulettin.

BUT, you forum needs to be quite busy.

Anyway paid web hosting is always more reliable. I think it's better to spend $5 and have a hosting company that may help you if you encounter any issues. Webhostingbuzz.com is very good in it. Good company to start your business with.

How many unique visitors do you have a day?
If you have got nearly 40, you may have asemi-dedi from Webhostingbuzz.com. A limit of 40 users per server – only 40 clients are hosted per semi-dedicated server. This guarantees users higher amounts of CPU and memory resources, when they need it.

The number of unique visitors per day and the number of accounts per server are connected very remotely, I'd say.

From what I've read in other threads, forums may feel pretty good on shared plans, and then when reaching a certain number of visitors, be transferred to VPS or dedicated plans. What I mean, WebHostingBuzz.com shared may be enough for a new forum, no need to go for semi-dedicated. A more important fact if there's enough support for a forum to grow.

What about creating a phpbb forum?
I had problem implementing mods too, but phpbb simplifies the task.
The most simple and efficient to create a forum, imho

If you haven't got much time, and want to see what the new phpbb3 can offer, just try it out on this free host : http://www.forumotion.com

Hope this can help!
