Default strong command in descriptions - Advice please

Can I get your thought on using the <strong> command in site descriptions please, i.e

Is it usefull?
How much/how little
and can you over cook it?

Your thoughts would be very much appreciated.

<strong> and bold <b> appears the same.

Bold seems to be fair the most widely used of the two.

I doubt if you can over cook it, just more bold/strong would devalue the other contents on the page, in the same way as making the font big.

Personally you should use it to highlight important parts of your sites content. I think you shouldn't over due it though, not just for the search engines sake, but also for your visitors. Think about your visitors and not the search engines.
