![]() ![]() | I have to be careful what I post here, as I have worked with a site that is very near the top for the phrases you ae chasing Safe to say though that your on page stuff is not bad at all, it is mostly your inbound anchor text that is letting you down. What is your link building strategy?

![]() ![]() | In any competitive market you MUST get deep links as well as home page links. Natural linking does not get all the links going to the home page. Make sure that your strategy is not simply slamming into directories as it will hold you back a lot.

This is what I meant by 'your backlinking strategy' ![]() A good backlinking strategy should be trading links with on topic sites, getting one way links from articles, one way links from press releases, one way links from guest writing etc. Your links in directories are mostly to your homepage, some directories like my own deeplylinked.com allow deeplinks to your site. Writing articles is a source of deeplinks, press releases are also the same, as is guest writing for sites blogs etc.

![]() | Hi Suzie, Old Welsh is correct on what you need. Here is a good rule of thumb... Work on getting directory links for an entire week. I use submiteaze which does 80% of the work for you. I only discovered the program a short time ago. Once you have that done, then leave it alone and work on articles that will bring in traffic. The directory links and text links will help on PR and search results, but the articles will help on direct traffic. Also, don't make your articles about you or your website. Make them truly informative with a passing mention about your site. People will sell themselves on your site, but resist being sold. |

![]() ![]() | Submit articles when you have something good to say. I write articles and they are normally driven by something I read or a forum post for example. I think 'I will write that up', so do. ![]() Don't get hung up on SEO by numbers though. If you have something to say, then say it. if not then do something else. Eg, you can write an article on this thread and the contents. a beginners guide to polishing the stone. say how you have done a bit, but couldn't get the 3 C's on your site Conversion COnversion Conversion (in Joke related to how you judge the quality of a diamond, as in 'Cut Clarity Carat'). This is the sort of article that newbies to Internet marketing will love as it is not written by an expert, but 'one of them'. Oh and in your bio remember to put links to the sites of the people who contributed to the thread the most like ME and this site (he says being a link prostitute LOL)

Rather than writing a bunch of different articles I would focus on ONE quality article that really has some consumer value to it. Make sure you follow the good writing rules and make it interesting and specific. Not vague and fluffy. Then post the article to the numerous article sites and other places. A GREAT thing to work on is to offer this article to other sites for content yourself / directly. Many site owners are dying for good fresh content and many will take you up on the offer. Just make sure they keep an Author Link to your website on it. Remember that a quality article will be used 1000's of times by sites if it strikes the right note. | |
