IPB to PHPBB

Ok if i where to go and get hosted on a IPB, then I get a host(One to pay for) and use phpbb would my backup of my members still work or would they have to re-register.

Back story: OK right now im getting hosted on one of those free hosts. and I was looking at switching over to a IPB free host. I wanna get a host that costs and such, if i where to do so i wanna put up a phpbb(Since they are free and such.)

I hope that made sense.

So far as I know you can't convert member file from IPB as there is some sort of encryption.
That is a negative point for using IPB I think.

So in answer to your question, the members would have to re-register, still there might be some way to convert it, but none that I know of.
