Hi all,

We have a band/dj site that has been live for now for around 6 months, we've spent quite a bit on adwords, adcenter & Yahoo (March to Sept) but without much success. We've also tried investing quite a bit on further development and on an SEO consultant.

The site is www.entertainment-heaven.com

Adwords provided us quite a few click throughs but was not cost effective in the members that it was creating.

Any suggestions would be very welcome!

Your site is good. Good contents, layout, search engine friendly etc.

Your traffic is okay, but if you been paying for traffic then I guess that's not working to well. Site seems rather new, you been active less then 6 months?
You could do with some more backlinks. See if you can get links from bands sites to yours. Get yourself listed in top directories like DMOZ.org and spread your name around in music circles like the Music Forum in my siggy

Hi Chart Music,

Thanks for your reply. We went live in the last week of Feb 2007, initially we were a bit more generic with comedians and children's entertainers as well but I think that may have been giving out mixed messages so we decided, (rightly or wrongly) to focus more on bands and djs and started the downloads and gig listings etc in July.

We have spent on average around 200.00 per month on adwords between the site launch to the first couple of days of September. August was disappointing, we were getting clicks but not many became members so we decided to pull the plug on adwords and see how the site stood up without it.
There was also a site which was clearly using robots to click through to us, 52 clicks spaced exactly 30 mins apart to within a few seconds. I flagged it with adwords and they said that they would look into it but when they updated their monthly account we were still invoiced for those clicks and the site concerned still has adsense running on it.

I put in for dmoz around June but we haven't got a listing from them yet. I'll try to get some more backlinks and I'll definately register on your forum.

The internet is a confusing place for us, we are musicians not web developers or seo consultants so your feedback was really appreciated, it's nice to know that we're hopefully on the right track.

Do you have anything you can put on Youtube? Performances of unsigned bans, gigs etc? If you do you might be able to create a lot of traffic that way.

Thanks for your recommendation, I've added our site.

I have never posted anything before on Youtube. I have video footage from a few of the bands that I manage so I can post a couple of videos on there. I think some of the bands already have their videos on Youtube but I'll double check.
