![]() ![]() | It depends if that search engine has a spider or not. A rule fo thimb though is that if you are there and can see a submit button, then use it. it will not harm you. Just don't give your main email address for anything like a submission etc. There really arn't that many search engines worth worrying about though.

![]() | It is better to submit it first in the search engine like yahoo, google and msn as to easily indexed your site in the search engine. And then submit it to directories for backlinks and for SERPs. |

![]() ![]() | There should be no need to submit to a search engine as has been posted. If your site does not have links in to it then it will not remain in the index anyhow! to kharen: the main difference between a search engine and a directory is that pages do not exist on a search engine. the pages ou see are SERP's Search Engine Result Pages. they can not get spidered unless links are fond to them as they are created on the fly (I am not going to go into how you CAN get SERP's indexed right now )Directories on the other hand DO have pages that can be spidered via links. So submitting to a search enigine simply tells that SE that you exist, while submitting to directories creates back links pointing to your site.

![]() | some say its not necessary to submit a site to SEs... but this can help to index a site faster.. SEs are not going to include a "Submit your site here" if its bad... |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Some search engines apparently look for things like email addresses so that they can use or sell email address.

![]() | its necessary to submit in search engines only if they can crawl and index your pages/websites. for rest do directory submission and posting your website links in other websites/blogs/community and all...
