![]() ![]() | PPC is the generic term for paid per click advertising in general ie adwords yahoo sitematch etc. CPC is a specific amount you pay. a sentence using them in context would be " I use PPC advertising and try to keeep my CPC below $0.20 " Many people who do not understand the industry will say "I use cpc advertising" Which is kinda ok, but CPC refers to an amount of spend as it is a 'cost' factor.

![]() | Thanks for the info oldweshguy. In Google Adsense, what is the difference between page CTR to Page eCPM ? Do Google Adsense calculated it based on impression or traffic? Quote:

![]() ![]() | CTR = click through rate. it is the number of clicks in relation to the number of ad impressions Ecpm is Earnings per thousand (M being the roman numberal of 1,000 and has hung around since the start of the internet as an abreviation perM was what everyone used for per thousand, it was faster to write when it took A G E S for stuff to get across the web ![]() Earnings from Google. Here we go this is a nice one. If you have a high CTR then you will get paid more by google, I guess that is the easiest way to say it really. A poor CTR results in lower earnings. Google also takes into consideration conversions. Poor conversions result in a lower earning for the publisher. This is why getting HIGHLY targeted ads on your pages is so important. Google pays around 70% of its revenue out, but it is not the same amount for everyone..

Dya thinkso? Many people IMO make this mistake here are some stats. 1 in 7 searches result in a click through on a paid listing 6 in 7 result in a click through on an organic listing So OK if you are top 3 and have good titles and snippets showing then you could at BEST get 6/7 click throughs to your site. By being top on the PPC you will get 7/7 Not being top on paid and organic will cost you 14% of your business. So the smart marketer make the profit on the organic listings and freezes the opposition out at cost on the PPC Kill em dead LOL
