i just used firefox without issues

Maybe your browser/machine wasn't ready for the java bomb?

Java or popup blocker maybe?
Firefox seems fine, but no response until java part loaded in new window.

You'll see a normal webpage. The java doesn't load in a new window until you enter a term to graph.
