Default Any tips for 'traditional' advertising?

As a parallel activity to my SEO and Adwords campaigns, I'm thinking of using modest magazine ads to promote my online guitar strings and accessories shop. I know that a lot of you are 'on-line only' webmasters with no physical products to sell, but is there anyone out there who can offer any pearls of wisdoem about traditional print advertising? I'm thinking about small (cheap!) ads in the Web Listings section of magazines like Guitarist, Acoustic, Guitar Buyer etc in the UK. Do you think it's worth it, or should I concentrate my efforts (and budget) on Adwords? Or should I go all-out with bigger print ads?

Thanks,
Paul

I beleive what you are intending is a good idea, particulally for the product you have.
Are you looking to just have text lin ads or a box ad?
If you are having a box ad, spend what you can afford for design, it does make a difference.
Remember always to be breif and to the point, people dont like loads of text to read through to find what you are selling.
One good idea is to choose one of your products that you know is a fast mover and promote that, do some research and make sure you are the cheapest, or at least competative.
Once you have them interested and they then visit your website, well there's your next task, make sure when they get there you have that right.

Midlandi is right. Spend what you can afford, every last promotion will help. Taking the risk is what its all about. Trial the ad on the magazine and see how it goes.

Yes, and make sure you are in a magazine that acutely targets your audience. That shouldn't be too difficult for the product that you have.
