![]() | I am looking for the best and the fastest dedicated server at any cost. Please provide me a link to their company. I am planning on to open a large social networking community in future with many members. So I am going to need to start up with dedicated sever/host. Also, be sure it's including unlimited domain hosted, and as well including many/unlimited MYSQL, and e-mail accesses, php, all of others. Before you answer those. Please do not give me the godaddy crap. Because they aren't the best, or the fastest. They are poorly slow.

![]() | I wouldn't recommend you go straight to servers now. Get a small shared hosting account, start your website, let it grow and if it continues to grow at a good rate, you can consider dedicated servers at that point. Your looking around $120 per month for servers (Intel P4 specs).

![]() | Well. I am just wanting to go ahead and use dedicated server, so this way I won't have to worry about upgrading them, or something. I am not this good at moving them to a different kind of hosting.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Moving sites isn't nearly as difficult as managing a dedicated server. Actually, moving sites is quite simple. But if you are determined to have a dedicated, you have to decide what platform you want (Windows or Linux), what server software, what website control panel, etc....Starting prices for Linux based Apache servers are from $90 per month and up, if you want cPanel, that will cost I believe about $400 per year, or you can get them monthly for $40 or so.....There is a lot of time required as well, you might want to look into fully managed servers, so you don't have to worry about the headache. I found a place that had cPanel servers for $110.00 per month for their used machines, fully managed, so you might get lucky and find something in that price range. You can go to the cPanel website and follow the links there to their authorized distributors sites and find pricing that way. That's how I did it when I was looking. You might also want to consider VPS servers or a reseller account. You might find that a reseller account will be all that you will need, and only costs a fraction of the cost of a dedicated server. I had several high traffic sites on a single reseller account that costs me $5.00 per month, and never even came close to using up my Bandwidth or Storage quotas. Of course, all of my sites combined at the highest traffic points were only getting 40,000 or 50,000 unique visitors per month, and only showing 1,000,000 page views.....So I can't really say if the same would work for your needs. |

![]() | Thanks for the replies in here. Well, I only want linux dedicated. But, looking at 1and1.com, it seems like they got a great deal for business website with quality of storage, and bandwidth trasnfer monthly. I guess I will try to get a regular hosting first before I jump into dedicated server in future. Any one would recommend me using linux 1&1 developer? At only $19.99 a month with 300 GB storage, and 3,000 GB.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | That would be good. Just beware of plans like that that offer such large amounts of space and bandwidth. Email them and ask if there are any other restrictions that may apply. Some host providors will give you huge amounts of storage and bandwidth, but still limit processor usage, and shut you down if you exceed processor use. |

![]() | Right. I always use hostito ( http://www.hostito.com ) and they are excellent at hosting, and the speed. But now, they only have 1000MB, and 20GB bandwidth transfer monthly. So ever since I have been using it, I am almost out of the storage, so need to move them to a different company with large amount of storage, and bandwidth transfer monthly. I guess 1and1 would be perfect for me for the step 2, before I step to 3 would be dedicated server.

![]() | Agree with you. The dedicated server is the best solution for forum needs. I suggest you having a look at companies working only on servers solutions, like: RazorServers.com Servers4you.com. Moreover RazorServers.com for examle has a fantastic support. Those guys are very helpful. |

Running a dedi is an entire new world. You have to get into ssh and have to learn an ass load of commands. When my server stops responding its my problem. Like two days ago i was getting denial of service attacks for several hours straight and had to deny over 65 ip's ... It seems to be a never ending story with issues, but i must admit its kinda fun. I dont see how these large hosting companies do it ![]()
