![]() | I was bidding on a low competition keywords paying 3pence per click. over night every keyword went to £5.00 or £2.50 and the message was: Increase quality or bid £5.00 to activate and Increase quality or bid £2.50 to activate. That is how the "new" Google system operates. In the "old" days the keyword would have been disabled permanently. Now you get to decide whether it is worth $1.00 a click to you or not. (I've seen some go to $5.00.) Are there a lot of impressions on that phrase but few clicks? Or next to no impressions? Both seem to trigger higher minimum bids. If I had to guess I'd say that Google does this to manage resources, i.e., to limit the number of non-productive keywords taking up resources in their system. I found a forum that advices the following: -------------------------------------------- Here are some tips that may "increase quality": 1. Use the keyword phrase in the title of the ad. 2. Be sure the landing page is about and includes the keyword phrase prominently. (Their system considers page relevance now too.) 3. Test different ads to increase the CTR. No guarantee that doing the above will lower the minimum bid and you'll probably still have to bid that much to get the phrase running to find out if you've increased the CTR. I generally either bid what they request or delete the keyword phrase. -------------------------------------------- But nothing helps, so I have made one conclusion and one solution: Yahoo Adwords - (Yahoo Search Marketing). MSN Adwords - MSN's Live Center. Google rules everything and if they feel like increasing your CPC to $5.00 or £5.00 because they aren't making enough per click, then they are not going to be my primary click service provider!!! ![]()

![]() | Im sure that they checked that already. I think its an issue with regards to the fact that there are about 40,000 searches for that key term and I was only paying £0.03p per click. Do you insist on me contacting Google!? or should I just use: Yahoo Adwords - (Yahoo Search Marketing). MSN Adwords - MSN's Live Center.
