![]() | Any one want to be moderator of JustAFreeLancer.com? I need one, or couple moderators to help me with my site. So, this is only volunteer. But in future, we will be sharing ads revenue. Tell me what you experience in with moderating. In future, I will be giving stuff away to moderators. A free domain, and other stuff for helping me. But as right now I don't have much of money to spend on things, but supposedly to have decent money in future. If you want to be moderator. Be sure to tell me what are you experience in, and how many years, etc. Say something that would interest me, the more you said that interest me is the more of a chance for you to be a moderator. Edit - I will need few of people that you worked for, so I can discuss with them about if you are in good experience for it. If you want to discuss about it, pm me your user name for msn, or yahoo.

![]() ![]() | Joshie, Please don't take offence at this, but you are being a little audacious expecting people to apply for a 'job' that is voluntary, at a forum that has 70 threads running, yet they are expected to almost BEG for the opportunity to help YOU and YOUR business, and not only that but they have to supply you with PERSONAL contact details of their close friends? Until I read the last paragraph, I though yeh, I will give them a hand, why not. But reading that last one made me fall over laughing. There are some quality people out there, and attracting one of them as a moderator of your forum should be a privilege for YOU! not them. Good luck though, but I can't help thinking that you are unlikely to get many applications from decent people. I get asked to moderate or post on forums 5 to 10 times each week for example..

![]() | I am not begging for it. It's big reason of this is because I am going to try to get a life for myself as well. I am trying to attend to college. Before, I don't mind about doing it all to myself was because due of that time when my aunt passed away, but now I am over the fact that she died, so I am prepare to go to college. Just looking for someone to help while I am away. And, no offense taken. ![]() Etc. The reason I said about I have contact their friend is because I wouldn't be here to monitor while they are moderating, this thus is what I am worrying about what would they do when I am away.

![]() | I have been a member of JAF and I believe it has a long and promising future ahead of it. Anyone taking on this job will not only benefit from it, but will also learn. It doesn't take much to do something with getting paid when you have knowledge, but volunteering to do something that you have knowledge in takes that much more. |

I think you are missing the point of my post. I was HAPPY to get in touch and help what I considered to be a forum with potential. I modertae on some of the top SEO forums in the world with some of the top SEO names in the world. BUT The moment I saw I had to attend an 'interview' and beg for the job supplying references etc then I thought no way! Moderators should ideally be appointed/approached from within a group you already know. If there are members in the forum who post well, then approach them. If there are people on other forums approach them and ask them if they would consider it. My point is that Joshie has (IMO) gone about it TOTALLY backwards to forum tradition. You ASK people if they would be prepared to HELP as a moderator, NOT ask if they would like to apply to be considered for becoming a moderator. GOOD moderators are hard to come by, and asking them to 'apply for cosideration' will unlikely get you the high quality you are looking for. As I said, I was considering it, then thought NO WAy am I going through all that. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | Agree with OldWelshGuy here. You can't expect a friend to moderator them when they are away. Forums can take some serious effort to get going. It's sounds in fact the forum is a no go, because the forum isn't going to be given enough attention if your planning on going away.

![]() | Well, just forget it then. The reason I am wanting it to "apply for consideration" is because, I just can't go up to a person and says "you want to be moderator?" then next day, my forums end up with ZERO members, ZERO thread because of moderator would be deleting them alls. This is a reason that I would want to build a "trust" before any thing goes further.
