Add LOGIN BOX to my web

hi!,
I design a web using photoshop and edit with dreamweaver.now i wanted to add login box to my web.if i entered the username and password then go to thew next page.i dont know how to do thisone.... can anyone pls help me to do this using .NET or any other language like JAVA,PHP or......(i'm hurry up this ...pls help )

I think that PHP is your best bet....You can validate user entered data with javascript, but you cannot access server side data to compare it to, unless you use AJAX. The link that Mad Cat gave you explains it pretty well, but you should have some pretty decent knowledge in using PHP before you should attempt understanding that. If you already have a good grounding in PHP, then that will work great. If not, go take a look at http://www.w3schools.com and get a good feel for PHP before delving in to deep, and then go back to the link that Mad Cat gave you, that will help.
