Default 3 Reasons Yahoo! Local Search Can Dominate Google

This week has been filled with news and commentary regarding Yahoo’s release of the new Yahoo! Local. The enhanced system integrates a number of new and exciting elements, all presented to the user in order to deliver a higher quality experience.

For search marketers, Yahoo! Local is exciting because it can be identified as one weak spot where Google can quickly be dethroned. Of course, that all depends on how things play out — but I’m impressed by what I am seeing. With that idea in mind, here are three reasons Yahoo! Local should become the local search giant.

No chance.
What a poor article which doesn't understand the user requirements. Users don't want advertising.

I also tried using the yahoo site and despite saying I wanted uk. It then wanted a city of which I entered London. It then gave me 'London, KY'

Google can sleep easy again.

I am looking forward to the day that Google is dethroned, but I honestly doubt that Yahoo! will have anything to do with it. Thats a funny story Chart, in America, when you say London, 99% of Americans will understand that it is located in the UK, but Yahoo, dumb as Google, will look for the nearest London, which occurs in just about every state, and every Canadian province that there is.....But for us, London is still in the UK.....Why the search giants find the nearest is far beyond me....
