![]() ![]() ![]() | Here is the scenario. You submitted your website to DMOZ ages ago having checked the criteria and all looks good. So far you heard nothing from DMOZ and it's not listed. Should you after some period of time resubmit your site? What are the options?

![]() | Longest I had to wait was 4 months but have heard of people waiting up to 6. Did you take a screen shot of the category you submitted to? Has any sites been added/changed since the time you submitted - any broken links on the page? I really think there are orphaned categories as I have seen some make no additions/changes for a 60 day period - when I see no movement (knowing they get tons of submissions a day) I find the next closest category and try again. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | I didn't have the foresight to take a screenshot but have quite a good understadning of the section and it doesn't look like anything has changed for over 3 months now. In fact quite possible for much longer, but it's been 3 months since the submition. I guess I'll wait a but more, it just a little frustrating that nothing seems to happen.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't really understand dmoz, it only took me a few days to be listed in the directory, and my category is a low profile category. But, I've heard of people waiting for 6 months or more to get a site listed, some stories even say years. I would resubmit the site if it hasn't been accepted or denied. You might even consider applying for a position as an editor, and then approving your own site. It's a thought! |

Wont really work as any sites submitted to the wrong category will just get moved over to the correct one and stay there until an editor reviews it.

I agree there are some sites that are so specific there is only one category for which you should apply. Most should have 2-3 which can make sense - you can attempt regional or product, etc. Point is if there is not an editor for a category and it has been ignored for months then I suggest you try another relevant category.

Or you could try to become editor of that category. Or at the very least, if you know of a shortage in a particular category, let us know, and maybe someone else would be willing to apply for that position.
