Alexa vs Compete

Which trend method do you think is the most accurate?

Ah, the poll should say Alexa of course, don't seem to have an option to amend it.

I think that compete is still too new to properly compete (no pun intended) with alexa yet. Although, I like compete better, their data is still too limited.

Having looked into this for a week or so. It seem both are inaccurate but at the moment Alexa is slightly better.

I'm not a great fan of Alexa, but at least it works internationally!

Compete is only looking at US traffic... which is useless for me in the UK and probably not a lot of help to most people on this forum, many of whom seem to have 'no boundries' world-wide sites.

I am using Alexa than compete.com. And I think Alexa much not give accurate result for the site.

well of course alexa would have better results as its been around longer however people, i would sugest reading a previous post i made regarding this method of mesuring trafiic http://talk.iwebtool.com/post83897-17.html

by no meens are these stats sites/programs intended to be 100% acurate and never will be..

Primarily only professonal webmasters use the collected data to see a ballpark statistic rank of there site on the net as a whole.

I voted for Alexa for the sheer factor that I have not really use Compete.com a whole lot. Alexa is years old remember.

I'm not too familiar with complete so I wont vote, allthough when i did use it before it didn't seem to be working properly, saying not enough data on several sites i put in.

At least for the current time frame it must be Alexa, although we all know how vague this is (and I'm no fan of Alexa). There is an important statement on the home page of Compete that puts Alexa ahead;

Quote:

There is a lot of traffic outside the U.S. A tool more suited to the U.S. market only?

i never heard of compete , but i know alexa is all round famous and almost allmost all refer to alexa so alexa is best i guess lol

I love Alexa... never really liked compete...Only the odd time i may check out my progress at Compete, but generally use Alexa

i think compete is some generic site made by someone from one of the forums...i think ive seen that script and its a turnkey one...
