![]() | I am just wondering for those who hang out in forums, how much ads do you think is too much and will turn away from a forum??? Is the ads block (like a leaderboard ad block) right after the first post on each page too much??? Do you like to see big leaderboard on top of the forum or would that turn you away from a forum??? A lot of forum owners get greedy and overdo it with ads everywhere. I want to strike the right balance and be able to earn money from my forum and at the same time, not annoy too much my visitors.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It really depends on your forum I guess.....I have found that the most productive ads are typically the smaller text link ads....Banner ads can be used to fill in a space that otherwise might look awkward without, but banners don't tend to pay as much in my experience. Too many ads are when you have ads, but no content. I have seen extremely successful websites that are literally littered with ads, but they maintain a certain attractiveness because of the content that they offer. about.com or askmen.com are a couple of examples of a great balance. |

![]() | Forums generally aren't the best sites for ads. People go to forums for content. So you might have to place more ads and place them more obtrusively to get enough clicks.

![]() | I have ads on my forums, I only prefer two ads on each pages than three ads (due T.O.S of google adsense).

![]() ![]() ![]() | Difficult question, my advice would be to keep ads informative and not intrusive if you want members in the long term.
