 |  Free link directories? I wish to know how popular is the use of free link directories between you boys (i mean: do you use them to gain a better PR?), i'm planning to develop better mine but first i'm curious about your opinions...

| Re: Free link directories? I mainly submit my sites into directories with higher authority. Nowadays i rather try to find the theme related niche directories than submit into everyone.

| Re: Free link directories? Submission to directories should not be solely based on PR. Backlinks are important for SERPS which help increase traffic, PR is a good perk though.

| Re: Free link directories? Lots of opinions over PR and free directories. One school of thought is to only submit to high PR- general or niche, paid before free for the PR effect and higher quality submits that a paid directory attracts. Others say it does not matter. Just because it is free does not make it spammy/low quality. I submit to anything with a relevant topic/cat. I see to many low to zero PR sites with great serps. PR is not dead, sure it still has pulling power, but I do not think it is as critical as it use to be. Just another cog in the equation. |

| Re: Free link directories? Tupac101, when you post a link in a directory, the search engines look at it as an endorsement. Enough endorsements, and your rank goes higher since some of it comes from the directories. So the more directory links you have, the better.
