Can you Define 3 way linking

Hello everyone,

Can anyone please define 3 way linking, to a not so bright person? I think I know what it means.

AND

Is this and one way linking adventageous to building links.

I have read where others try to stay away, that this can get you in a pickle if you dont monitor it well.

Your thoughts are deeeeeeeeeply appreciated !!

Michele, if you have two websites and i also have one and we would like to exchange links 3 way, then i will place a link pointing to one of your sites and you will link back from the another. 3 way link exchanges are supposed to be better in seo wise than the plain link exchanges, but the 3 way linking patterns can be easily recognised by search engines. Yahoo! doesn't rank very well one of my sites and i guess the reason is the 3 way link exchanges.

Agree, 3 way links is a good link exchange strategy...

Having one site sacrificed.....

my 2 sites (abc.com and xyz.com) and your 1 site(yoursite.com)... I will link your sites(yoursite.com) in my two sites (abc.com and xyz.com) and you will link of the two...

3 way is a good strategy, as was reciprocal linking some time ago. Search engines detected reciprocal links and gave these lower preference. So now the search engines are developing algorithms to detect 3 way linking, until they do this well 3 way linking is still good.

Unfortunately, the problem now is the links pages themselves, so search engines will immediately look at the links on such pages with suspicion, even the three ways links.

It's been a while that links pages have been losing values.

Guess sometime with this ever changing situation in SE that sometimes it might not be a bad idea to just focus on 1 way relevant & quality link..

3 ways are good if they are relevant with the website.

3 way LE - For Ex. you have website A have to link with Website C, and your link would be placed on Website B.
