![]() | Recently I have been unable to post an advertisement in http://london.photo-ads.co.uk. I originally posted an advert in this directory without any problems in December 2006. What is amazing is that I can post to birmingham.photo-ads (http://birmingham.photo-ads.co.uk) but not london.photo-ads which uses the same database. Because other users apparently do not seem to have the same trouble posting to london.photo-ads is probably the reason that I have not been able to get any response from the site moderator. (day by day posts are being added) This is the problem........ To post an ad in http://london.photo-ads.co.uk you have to register and then log in. You are then directed to "Edit User Profile" ..... Quote:
When you submit this screen an error is produced and the details have not been updated although it says they have. At this point you cannot proceed any further ........ Quote:
Note: For the purpose of copying the code I have not completed any of the fields. That is why there are no entries showing in the error code. It does not make any difference what goes in the fields anyway because it still gives the same error message which says " .... right syntax to use near '' at line 4". The obvious conclusion is that the site owner's php SQL is at fault, but if that was the case then other users would be experiencing the same problem and would not be able to post to london.photo-ads, but they can! When I click to "post an ad" in the Birmingham directory it asks you to log in and then it directs you to the page to post an ad, but doing the same thing in the London directory it takes you to "Edit User Profile" which cannot be saved because of this syntax error. The message says the account has been updated (although it hasn't) and then asks you log in to post your ad (back to square one again). I have tried disabling lots of things on my computer like HOSTS / Norton Internet Security / Ad Blockers. I have also tried posting in different Browsers .... Firefox / IE7 / Opera. I am not very technical when it comes to syntax errors, SQL, php code and the like. Do you have any ideas on how to overcome this rather unusual problem? | ||
