Just to focus on the main issue i.e. how not to spend $$ on link building. No idea what your site is about. Rule of thumb is that if your site is going to generate revenue than at some point you have to 'injet' advertising $$ to SEO better your site. Otherwise, IWT is good platform to build quality links..cheers

Purchasing links is not natural. You should put your time and money into developing unique content that other website will want to link to.

I think you shouldn't buy links. Sometimes, they just remove it after 1 month.

Buying links can be useful for your link building campaign

The only problem is that buying links can be a very expensive exercise

I have spent 1000's of dollar in one way links. They kill you just like PPC. I would suggest reciprocal, 3 way linking, article writting and adding more content pages to your site consistently. You will be looking very strong in 5/6 months time

Links should be organically accumulated for best results. If all of a sudden you got a whole bunch of links after one month, that is not as good as if you accumulate the links over time. Buying links is REALLY frowned upon.

Google even lets you report paid links
http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/how-to-report-paid-links
The main man from Google talks about paid links on this page:
http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/tell-m...your-backlinks
I have a list of do and don'ts regarding SEO and links at my page here:
http://emarketing-strategy.blogspot....ch/label/links
Hope that helps!

Build your site with good quality content and get good links in from other related sites and you will do well. Purchasing links will in the end be your downfall. Watch out... Google's about!
