As most of the traffic comes from google and yahoo so target yourself on these two. yes,yahoo generates lot more traffic than MSN.

I get most my traffic from Yahoo, I find google is so crammed with rubbish (People who tricked the system and got up for a few days) thus I can never get any hits from it.

You can get traffic from MSN by getting inbound links with anchor text or submitting your site to niche directory.

Yahoo definitely gave me a lot more traffice...none of it turned into paying work, but I was paying for the clicks. I've since turned off all my ad campaigns (google, msn & yahoo) and am now working on natural SEO.

For me, even though I have better ranking in Yahoo and MSN, most of my traffic comes from Google. That tells me that they are in the lead when it comes to technical searches that require my data recovery services.

Yes, MSN yes less traffic but it is a great place to SELL to the average consumer. Like mars said, a lot of NON-webgeeks use it and have it as their default search engine. If you are marketing towards the "average consumer" or new / infant website owners it has great conversion rates.

I get a combination of traffic from all three search engines, the least of traffic I get is from MSN. I actually get more traffic from AOL search than MSN...lol...In the beginning stages of my site, I would say google was the main source of traffic. But I was say in the last 3-6 months, it's been Yahoo generating more traffic for my site ever since my link building has gone up.

I agree, Google does have clutter, and some sites are repeated with in the first 2-5 pages. But I see some of that in Yahoo search too. All search engines need to work on the clutter. Hand picked directories are the only source I seen so far which doesn't have clutter.

My site ranks pretty well for most keywords in MSN... I see very little traffic from it. In google I don't rank so well and still see 10x the traffic.
