![]() | I searched through the forum but couldn't find a specific answer... Will search engines crawl .php content such as individual product pages retrieved from a database. e.g. Would the page example below get crawled and indexed?? http://www.sitename.com/product_info.php?products_id=79 I was wondering whether I should create static html versions of all of my current products and link them into their dynamic .php cousins? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The php pages will be crawled and indexed by search engines similarly as the simple with html pages unless you disable them using robots.txt or robot meta tag. The file extension doesn't influence the attitude of the different robots, but the script generated code.

![]() ![]() | If there's a link to the page, they should do. Most consider making such Dynamic URLs "SEO-Friendly" however by changing them to something static like: sitename.com/products/79/ or something like that. Even better would be the name of the product in place of the 79 ofcourse ![]() This would usually require MOD_REWRITE using the .htaccess file. Tricky stuff for me, I usually get someone else to do it for me ![]()

![]() | Thanks Dhscott, I will try learning about the MOD_REWRITE function for the .htaccess file. Sounds like that may really pay off in terms of key word ranking. |

![]() | google indexes almost all kind of pages whether it is php, rails, html or asp.....the main thing that stops google from indexing particular page is robot.txt. if you disable indexing of particular page in robot.txt google wont index it. Regards, Admans.

![]() | All pages will get index. Just make sure the content is diffrent on each page so that Google doesn't think its duplicate content. |

| Wish you were here! | PHP pages will definitely get indexed. However, from the point of advanced SEO, getting a footer.php to retrieve all links are not as effective as having physical manual links on the PHP page. That's why CMS will always lose out a manual website. Of course, it's tough to have thousands of physical, manual html pages. Regards, Edmund Ng |

![]() | ... but they are harder to get for the crawler. dynamic websites are not really bot-friendly ones. you can check it with many tools how the robot reads your website

Agree, all pages (dynamic and static) are crawled by SE and indexed by them... Only SEs dislikes pages in dynamic format 'coz it's not SE friendly... | |
