Lets say you put a key phrase in a subdomain i.e. widgets.yoursite.com.

When you go do widgets.yoursite.com all the content shows up and is geared towards the key phrase "widgets".

Now what if I made another subdomain, i.e. ABCwidgets.yoursite.com, used the same content and just replaced the key phrase for that page.

Would that be considered SPAM?

What if you changed the content slightly so it's not exactly the same?

In other words it will be the same site only different subdomain, same content (or slightly altered content) but different key phrase.

If the subdomain content was quite a bit different, then no, it would not be spam. But considering that it is close to the same content, then yes, that would be spam. Not to say that there is anything wrong with that. Some of the most prolific money makers on the web do the very same thing. If you get caught, then you risk the chance that Google will ban you...If you don't, then all the better, right?

Yup, you need different content for that but you can still maintain its relevance perhaps by composing related articles on it..

Domain / subdomain name is not as important as it used to be.

I think yoursite.com/widgets.html will rank better than widgets.yoursite.com.

Adding a new subdomain is just like creating a new site. It going to take a while till it gains some trust.

subdomains are completely new domains in the eye of the search engines.

if you use subdomains, it will be difficult to rank with a subdomain
